Who You Will Be Working With
Joseph Henegan, CFP®
Owner & Financial Advisor
Since I was a kid, I’ve always been interested in stocks, investing, and finance. My grandfather used to have me sit down and look up his stock prices in the newspaper for him, and we would talk about investing. It’s an experience that’s stuck with me throughout my life, and has shaped my career.
I attended Thiel College, received my Bachelor’s in Accounting and Business Administration, and after a brief stint in manufacturing, entered the financial industry. Almost four decades later, I’ve never looked back. I’m now a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and the proud owner of Henegan Financial Services.
There are a lot of things to love about the work I do, but above all, I love seeing how the advice I give and the services I provide can help people enjoy their lives, reach their dreams, and live free from financial worries. Knowing my clients are happy and enjoying life, and that they trust me with their financial futures, is the greatest reward.
I live in Jamestown, Pennsylvania, close to Pymatuning Lake. I enjoy golfing, hiking, hunting, and travelling when I’m able—especially if that travel helps me pursue my love of nature and history in some way. My wife, Mary, and I have two children together: Amy and Zach. Amy also works in finance in New Jersey, and Zach works with me in the family business.
I believe in enjoying every day as it comes, and look for ways to contribute to at least one person’s happiness each day. I try to remember that life is short, and we should enjoy the ride—a motto I try to live in my own life, and help my clients do as well.
Zachary Henegan, RSSA®
Registered Assistant
I have been working in the financial industry for nearly a decade—but as the son of a financial advisor, you can bet that I’ve been practically raised in the industry. When I first left for college, I intended to study computer engineering, but after a lifetime of watching my dad work, I soon realized that I enjoyed helping people more than making things, and I switched my major to follow in his footsteps.
I’m from the little town of Jamestown, Pennsylvania; if you blink, you might miss it. I attended Pennsylvania State University of Behrend, and received a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems, Business Analyst, with a minor in Finance. I also became a Registered Social Security Analyst in 2022. I love that the work we do provides our clients with stability and guidance to get through uncertain times in their lives.
When I turned five years old, my father took me whale watching. As everyone else ran around the boat, trying to get a glimpse of the whales, I stayed where I was, confident that a whale was coming. After ten minutes of waiting, a whale breached within ten feet of where I stood. I believe in applying that same patience and consistency in the work that I do for our clients.
Tyler Wasser
Registered Assistant
Tyler received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Slippery Rock University and has now been in the financial industry for ten years. However, his true passion is in simply working with people. Since he first started working as a sophomore in high school, he’s always worked in client-facing jobs, and has loved connecting with others through the work he does. Using his skills and education to help people within his community inspires and motivates him to come to work each day.
Tyler was born and raised in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He even remembers riding his bike past our offices on the way to Little League games when he was a boy. He continues to love living here with his partner, Naomi, and his children, Ezra and Luca. When not wrangling his two toddlers, Tyler enjoys going on adventures with his family, playing the guitar (though not particularly well), cooking new foods, keeping active, and golfing. He is also the treasurer of the board for Strayhaven Animal Shelter, which allows him to make a difference in animals’ lives when he’s not here, making a difference in the lives of our clients.
Noah Richardson
Registered Assistant
Noah is a graduate of Mercyhurst University, where he was a member of the Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society, and received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2024. He quickly received his Series 7 and 66 licenses that same year, as well as his Life, Health, and Accident Insurance license. He is now a registered assistant at Henegan Financial, where he helps with servicing client accounts, financing planning, and investment services.
While Noah loves learning new things about the financial industry every day, he also loves educating our clients on important topics that help them take control of their finances. Noah was drawn to this industry by a lifelong interest in finance and economics, as well as a joy for helping others. Working with our clients allows him to pursue both those passions at once.
Noah lives in Conneaut Lake, and loves the opportunities that his hometown provides for getting outdoors and enjoying nature. He likes golfing, fishing, and hunting, but certainly won’t back down from a cerebral challenge either—he’s also an avid chess player. He is one of four boys in his family, and is deeply grateful for how his parents and brothers support him and push him to be a better version of himself.
Elizabeth Diefenderfer
Assistant
Elizabeth attended the Shenango Valley School of Business, where she received an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, and is a former employee of Reynolds School District. She made the shift from education to finance, and now works as a non-registered assistant here at Henegan Financial Services. Her tasks include assisting our financial advisors with daily operations, as well as administrative duties. Elizabeth loves to meet our clients and talk to them about their lives and families; she’s passionate about the work we do here, helping people meet their financial goals.
Elizabeth was born and raised in Greenville, Pennsylvania, where she still lives with her husband, Brad, and their daughter, Rachel. Her family also includes a number of dogs and cats, who she loves just as much as her human family members. The Diefenderfer family has a camp on the Allegheny River, which they enjoy spending time at while they hunt, kayak, and fish together.
